This picture is my sister Abby and her husband Roy on their wedding day. They opted for a non-fancy and no-fuss wedding two days after Drew and I got married. They had just celebrated their two year anniversary August 13th. Roy died in his sleep on Tuesday morning of unknown causes. He was only 28 years old.
We drove to South Dakota to be with her the day that it happened. There is nothing in me that can imagine the feelings and hurt that she is experiencing now. It is unfathomable to me. She has pulled through the last few days with amazing strength.
I wanted to post this because this has opened my eyes to how fragile our days on this Earth are. We are not guaranteed tomorrow, no matter how young we are. So kiss your husband before he leaves for work, make sure you are on good terms when you go to sleep, kiss your baby one more time and tell them how much you them, and don't depend on tomorrow to fix the the things you did today.
