Haiti

I know most of you know that a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti yesterday around 5pm. I have spent a great deal of time in this country and it is near and dear to my heart, as are its people. Many of my friends were there yesterday-some have not been accounted for. Peoples homes, the shopping market, schools, orphanages, boys homes, the presidential palace are all laid flat with people buried under the rubble. The electricity (called EDH) went out right away and the sun went down an hour after the first shock. People have been praying for EDH to make their efforts more efficient, for man power to help remove the rubble, for peace to stop the looting that will occur, and for the super natural wisdom, power, and strength from Jesus to make it through. Pray specifically for:

Maranatha (an infant orphanage that is currently without any walls or security)

Heartline Women’s Ministries

Masion de Lumiere Boys Home

Troy and Tara Livesay

John and Beth Mchoul

Bill Susette Ari Vienna Elijah Kenny and Frankie Manassero

Ed Amos

Quesquia Christian School

The people trapped inside Caribbean Market

The people trapped in their home on Delmas 40

Fritz and his wife and Children

If you have the means, the Maranatha adoption agency is asking for immediate donations to clean up and rebuild their walls to protect those babies in there from the looters that are coming. Their link is Heartline Haiti - Maranatha

A few friends of mine in Haiti have been able to blog about the experience, here are their links if you are interested in reading.

It is in my nature to hop on a plane and go there....not knowing anything, I just want to go. I want to help. I'm a mommy to a 10 month old, so how that would work, I don't know. I'm just asking you to pray for this country and its people.

Romans 8

26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

La et konye a Bondye, bini Hayaiti souple .....Here and now, God, please bless Haiti

This makes it even more real. I am praying, now more specifically. So sorry to hear that you are so personally affected by this. May God give you vision greater than your own and the ability to pursue a plan of help.

was looking to see how ed was too. Found this http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100114/FRONTPAGE/1140337

"Also safe were a group of eight missionaries, including a nurse practitioner and an administrator from Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, who left on Saturday to work at a clinic in Ile la Vache, a small island off the Haitian coast, hospital spokeswoman Donna Dubuc said.

The clinic is organized by former Cheshire physician's assistant Ed Amos, who left New Hampshire in 2002 to provide medical services in Haiti. Amos is okay, Dubuc said. "

Met ed when the riots were going on in April 08. we were evacuated from les cayes and stayed with him one night in pap, unanounced and welcomed in like family.
