fun art

Judah has really been getting into creativity.
He has creatively colored on my windows with non washable crayon and creatively sent one of those crayons through the washing machine.
Not only does he love to color, he loves him some glue stick. Whether he's using it on paper, smearing it with his fingers or eating it, it doesn't matter.
I used this to my advantage and combined his love and mine (coffee) to make a turkey or "tooky" family.

I'm only kidding about all his new ventures into creativity.
I mean, they really did happen, but that just comes with a busy boy who is locked in the house during cold weather.
This craft luckily held his interest for a while and it was fun for both of us.

I also contributed to our household art while cooking dinner:

Nearly caused a fire.
Dang it.

P.S.
I have been having quite a bit of trouble the last few months posting with this blog and as a result, have started a new one.
Be looking for the link here in a few days.

Happy Thanksgiving, all.

A Little Heart Ache

I loved, loved, loved being able to stay home.
There actually wasn't anything about it that I disliked.
It was a culmination of everything I have ever wanted out of life.
Wife-dom, mommy-dom, domesticity and all that it entails be it cooking, hosting,
....even folding laundry.
I loved being in touch with a group of mommy's that did the same things I did,
and who loved it just as much.
I loved all the time I was able to spend with Judah.
I loved being the first thing he saw when he woke up,
laying in bed cooing at each other for an hour before we got out of bed,
being the first person to see every new skill he learned.
I loved taking "me" time while he was napping to work on crafts,
bake something, take a nap, or catch up on blogging.
My heart aches a little when I think about it.
I would give anything to go back to that.

As hard as this year has been with lack of income/employment,
I am very blessed to have a job, so don't get me wrong.
I'm not complaining.
I just miss my boy.
I miss my clean house--it's gone to pieces,
my kitchen--it's rearranged and I still don't know where things are,
my crafts--they are tucked away in the basement storage,
and have not seen the light of day in quite some time.

I miss it all.

Hopefully someday soon, though.

Boowa et Kwala

My mom and step dad help us with Judah
while Drew and I are at work.
Grandpa found the cutest little show online
and Judah just loves it.
It's Boowa and Kwala.
They are a bilingual dog and koala.

Their songs are in English and in French and

they are highly entertaining.
They don't pronounce most English words properly
- (i.e...skip is said "skeep"), which adds to the amusing factor.
Google it.

He thinks it's the best thing ever.

I love who you are growing into, baby boy.
You are such a joy.

Better Late?

This kid just kills me.
I spent our first weeks together trying to get him to take a binky.
He would not have it.
Every newborn loves a binky.
Not Judah.
I was his binky.
Looking back on it, I think it's sweet he preferred me.
At the time, it was anything but sweet.
So I am reorganizing his room, and happened across one of the 20 binkies I tried to force on him during his first weeks.
Just for fun, I give it to him.
HE TAKES IT.
You have got to be kidding me.
I sleep trained this kid at 3 months because he couldn't so much as fidget in his sleep without needing to nurse afterward.
He kept it in his mouth for over an hour.
What I wouldn't have killed for that when he was a newborn.
There is one perk....it puts a plug on all that drool!
